Julia Ruth Kitt, 94, of Overbrook passed away January 8, 2015, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
Julia was born November 22, 1920, southeast of Melvern, the daughter of Charles and Viola Meyersick Lane. The family moved to Osage City when she was eleven years of age. She had lived on Osage City, Cottonwood, Az, and Wichita, Kansas. She also owned and operated the R&L Bakery in Burlingame.
On January 5, 1938 Julia was united in marriage to Fred F. Carlson Jr. in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death in February 1983. She is survived by two sons Edward (Nancy) Carlson of Lebo; David (Sally) Carlson of Waverly; two daughters Marlene (Tom) Kirkland Wichita; Vivian (Ed) Crawford of Topeka. She was married to Roland Kitt of Lyndon on April 9,1983 in Burlingame, Kansas. He preceded her in death March of 1994. She is survived by his children Alvin and Kerry Kitt and Loraine Cranwell.
She is preceded in death by five brothers; Lee, Harold, and Bob Lane; Eugene, and Donald Bloomquist; She is survived by four sisters; Mary Treinen, Beth Criqui, Kay Hagen, and Mary Alice Elder. Eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; thirty-one great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be Monday January 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Feltner Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service time (10 a.m.). Memorials may be made out to Midland Hospice or The Lyndon Fellowship Bible Church, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home 818 Topeka Ave. Lyndon, Kansas 66451.
