Obituary

Vassar--John Flynn, Jr., 89, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his home on Pomona Lake near Vassar, Kansas. He was born on June 3, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of John and Gertrude (Huffman) Flynn, Sr.
John had lived most of his life in the Kansas City, Kansas area until moving to Lake Pomona in 1993.
He worked for the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City as a Supervisor. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church near Pomona.
On March 31, 1980, John was married to Bernice Flynn in Oklahoma.
John was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Flynn; his parents, John And Gertrude; and his two sisters, Margaret Provyn and Louise Saucerman.
John is survived by his wife, Bernice of the home; his son, Larry Flynn of Overland Park; his daughter, Becky Noone of Kansas City, Kansas; his step daughter, Sandy Belknap of Kansas City, Kansas; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for John will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 9 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests flowers to Guiding For The Blind and ​Donor's Choice of an Animal Rescue​ , sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
