Topeka--Jeffery Hedrick, 13, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home in Topeka. He was born on April 9, 2002 in Burlington, KS. the son of Brett and Nichole Schecher Hedrick.
Jeff had been a student at Tecumseh North Grade School and Shawnee Heights Middle School. Jeff was a member of the Warrior Football team and was on the squad when they won the championship. He started wrestling with the Ogden Outlaws when he was 8 years old and he was active in the Shawnee Heights Wrestling, Track and Golf teams and the Black Diamond baseball team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also an avid skateboarder.
Jeff was preceded in death by a grandfather, Bryan Harper, Sr.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Brett and Jammie Hedrick of Topeka and Nichole and Keith Henry of Lecompton; two brothers, Kaden Henry and Jaxson Henry; a sister, Hailey Hedrick; grandparents, Theresa and Barry Bronson of Lyndon and Jerry Schecher of Tecumseh, Mike and Diane Hedrick of Vassar, Don and Sandy Webb of Berryton and Susan Henry of Topeka; great-grandparents, Suanne and Jim Hoffman and Chuck and Bernetta Schecher, all of Horton, Wayne Hedrick of Ottawa and Sandy Harper of Florence; Dorothy Bronson of Bahama,NC.; great-great-grandparents, Herman and Nan Torkelson of Horton; and many uncles and aunts.
Funeral services for Jeff will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 28 at the Highland Heights Christian Church at 29th and Tecumseh Rd. Cremation will follow services. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm on Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.
