Carbondale--Jefferson "Jeff" Molloy, 87, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Stormont-Vail hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on December 4, 1931 in Galt, Missouri, the son of John and Della Hess Molloy.
Jeff grew up in Missouri and had moved to Kansas in 1954. He had lived in Carbondale since 1971.
Jeff worked for Firestone Tire in Sales and Service for many years.
On February 19, 1951, Jeff was married to Margaret Ralls in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Jeff was preceded in death by his son, James Molloy on February 16, 2015; his parents, John and Della; his three brothers, George, John and Francis Molloy; and his two sisters, Rosa Ralls and Nola Cox.
Jeff is survived by his wife Margaret of the home; his five daughters, Mary (Randall) Colston of Nesbit, Mississippi, Virginia (Jim) Cook of Carbondale, Connie (Randy) Roberts of Carbondale, Eva (Larry) Birch of Maple Hill and Amy (Tony) Flohrschutz of Lawrence; 24 grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jeff will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 19 at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time at the church.
