Lyndon - Janice Ruth VanWey, 81, passed away on August 1, 2026, at her home in Lyndon, Kansas. She was born on December 18, 1944, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Jeanette (Cochran) Reitz.

Jan had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, Topeka and Burlingame. She had lived in Lyndon for over 30 years.

Jan had worked as a church secretary, then for Hallmark Cards and worked in bookkeeping for Commerce Bank in Topeka. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

On March 26, 1969, Jan was married to Burris "Van" VanWey in Miami, Oklahoma.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Van, on January 21, 2021; and by her parents, Walter and Jeanette.

Jan is survived by her son, William (Dianne) VanWey of Chandler, Arizona; by her two daughters, Vera Kay Davis of Blue Springs, Missouri and Susan (Frank) Edwards of Meriden; by her four grandchildren; by her eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Jan will be cremated and no services are planned.
