Vassar - Janice Kay Mathias, 82, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at her home near Vassar, Kansas. She was born on October 12, 1941, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Klingler) Yost.

She lived in Grove Oklahoma, Osage City and rural Vassar.

Janice had worked as a caregiver for many years and was a manager of McDonald's in Grove, Oklahoma. She always loved baking.

Janice was married to Glenn McFadden on July 19, 1959, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2006. She married David Mathias and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2015.

Janice was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Whitcomb; her brother, Jerry Yost; and her sister, Lois Ashworth.

Janice is survived by her son, Kenneth McFadden of Carbondale; her brother, Eddie Yost of Aiken, South Carolina; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Janice's wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona at a later date.
