Overbrook - Janet Lee Gray, 81, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas. She was born on July 23, 1943, in Greenbelt, Maryland, the only child of Leonard and Alma (Skelton) Webster.

Janet had grown up around the country but had lived in New Mexico and Arizona for many years. She had lived at Overbrook since 2021.

Janet had worked for the Sandia Laboratories in New Mexico as a Chemist.

On January 22, 1970, Janet married Charles Gray in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Charles was born on April 19, 1944, the son of John and Lillian (Williams) Gray of Quenemo. He graduated from Osage City High School.

Since Janet and Charles were not able to be married and both work at Sandia, Janet retired and started her own dog breeding business.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on January 8, 2021, in Tuscon, Arizona; and by her parents, Leonard and Alma.

Janet is survived by her two nieces, Kathy Zabel of Melvern and Melinda Anstaett of Lyndon.

Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at Osage City Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
