Melvern--Janet E. Brown, 77, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Sunset Manor in Waverly, Kansas. She was born on March 17, 1938 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Martin and Lois Mosley Bishop.
Janet had lived in Kansas City before moving to Melvern in 1968 where she has lived since.
Janet was a Homemaker and helped take care of the family farm. She was a member of the Melvern Church of God. She led the singing at the church and cleaned the church until 2013 and was on the Missionary Board.
On October 27, 1956 Janet was married to Charles E. Brown in Mulvane, Kansas.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Bishop; a grandson, Cameron Clemens; and a great-grandson, Bradly Dickey
Janet is survived by her husband Charles of 59 years; her four daughters, Linda Lawhorn (Jack) of Melvern, Judy Wisocki (Jeff) of Texas, Holly Alvarez (Sal) of Hartford, and Jolene DeMaranville (Chris) of Melvern; her brother, Merrill Bishop of West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Erin Dickey, Joseph Lawhorn, Jennifer Thompson, DC3 Caleb Clemens U.S.N., Jacob Streeter, Christopher Clemens, Grace DeMaranville, Charlie DeMaranville, Demi DeMaranville; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Janet will be at 11:30am on Wednesday, December 9, at the Melvern Church of God. The family will receive friends one half hour before services at the church.
