Obituary

Vassar--James "Rock" Sosebee, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the V.A. Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas.  He was born on December 10, 1941 in Beaufort, South Carolina, the son of James and Blanche Cobb Sosebee.
Rock grew up in South Carolina and had lived in North Carolina and Arizona before moving to Lake Pomona near Vassar in 1994.
Rock served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963.  He worked most of his life in Construction as a Steel Worker.  He was a member of the Tar Heel Stompers Motorcycle Club and then the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.
On December 4, 2012, Rock married Carol Ward in Quenemo on their 25th anniversary.
Rock was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerensa Ward on August 11, 2009; by his parents, James and Blanche; his sister, Dorothy Nagel; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Ward.
Rock is survived by his wife Carol of the home; his son, James (Cathy) Sosebee of New York; his two brothers, William "Spook" Sosebee of South Carolina and Michael (Debra) Sosebee of San Francisco, California; two sisters-in-law, Linda Ward of California and Janet Ward of North Carolina; his three grandchildren, Alex, Justin and Jimmy; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside memorial services for Rock will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 12 at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Quenemo.  The family and friends will gather following the services at the South Shore Club House at Pomona Lake.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the James Sosebee Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
