George Eldon Hackett was born on June 14, 1944 on a farm east of Melvern, Kansas, the son of Milo and Mabel Tompkins Hackett. He departed this life on January 5, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 21 days.
George  grew up on a farm southwest of Willow Springs, Missouri and received his high school diploma from Willow Springs High School in 1968. In 1969, George moved to Louisburg, Kansas and later to the JC Ranch in Augusta and then to the Timbers in Wichita. He had worked as Quality Control for Center Industries for several years in Wichita.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Mabel; and by one sister, Helen Fleming, in 2000.
George is survived by his four brothers, Homer Hackett of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Harlan Hackett of Columbia, Missouri, Howard Hackett of Lovington, New Mexico and Harvey Hackett of Willow Springs; his sister, Donna Jordan of Beatrice, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for George will be held at 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 8 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Melvern Cemetery.
