Quenemo--Fred H. Woodbury, 82, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1932 on the family farm at Olivet, the son of Howard K. and Rachel Evans Woodbury.
Fred grew up in the Olivet area and had lived north of Quenemo since 1968.
Fred graduated from Olivet High School in 1949. He was on the Livestock Judging Team and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega while at K-State where he received a degree in Agricultural Administration.
Fred was a Farmer/Stockman all of his life. He was a member of the Pomona United Methodist Church, Kansas Livestock Association and the Kansas Farm Bureau. He served in the Army Reserve from 1957 to 1970 with the 733rd Transportation Unit and was discharged at the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
On February 23, 1963, Fred was married to Kathryn Hughes in Wichita.
Fred is survived by his wife Kathryn of the home; his two sons, Howard Woodbury and wife Elise and John Woodbury, all of Quenemo; his daughter, Ann Woodbury and husband Ambarita Sidabutar of Lawrence; his sister, Ann Lusk of Osage City; and five grandchildren, Evan Woodbury, Morgan Woodbury, Cole Sidabutar, Hugh Sidabutar and Trevor Sidabutar.
Funeral services for Fred will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 17 at the Pomona United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery.
