Lyndon--Frances Anna Sloop, 86, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on March 11, 1931 in Concordia, Missouri, the daughter of John and Anna Heins Borgelt.
Frances had lived in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to the Lyndon community in 1954.
Frances graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a Secretary, Homemaker and was co-owner of Sloop Farms and Vermeer Baler Business. She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was Treasurer and a member of the U.M.W. Frances had been a 4-H Leader, member of E.H.U. and served on the Olivet Election Board.
On March 13, 1954 Frances was married to Don Sloop in Kansas City, Missouri.
Frances was preceded in death by a son, Scott Sloop; a brother, Clark Borgelt; and a son-in-law, Clifford Alexander.
Frances is survived by her husband Don of 63 years; her son, David (Carla) Sloop of Lyndon; her five daughters, Diane Alexander of Topeka, Sandra (Mark) Silver of Pulaski, TN., Lynda (Robert) Farwell of Lyndon, Leeanna (Jerry) Remmert of Colorado Springs, CO., and Susan (Assem) Baayoun of Wichita; her brother, Roger (Cindy) Borgelt of Austin, TX; her sister-in-law, Barbara Borgelt; her two sisters, Evelyn Borgelt and LaVerne (Gus) Riedi, all of Overland Park; twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frances will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 5 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.
