Melvern--Frances Kay Coffman, 71, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on January 11, 1947 on a farm near the Alpine community, the daughter of John Wardie and Pearl Edna (Burnett) Davis.
Frances's family moved to Topeka where she graduated from Topeka High School in 1965. She worked for Palmer News for several years, and after moving to Melvern in 1997, she worked at the Mayes House in Melvern.
On March 24, 1972, Frances was married to Carl Coffman in Lyndon.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Carl on April 22, 2012; by her parents and her sisters and brother.
Frances is survived by two step sons, Kenneth Coffman and David Coffman; her niece, Neva Thurston Smith; four nephews, Brian Allison, Kenneth Allison, Wardie Davis and Larry Thurston; great nieces and nephews; and her dog Daisy.
Memorial services for Frances will be at 11:00am on Saturday, November 10 at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service time. Inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Feltner Funeral Home, to purchase a cement bench for the cemetery.
