Pomona--Forrest "Bub" Allen, 63, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his home north of Pomona, Kansas. He was born on April 5, 1952 in Ainsworth, Nebraska, the son of Marvin and Twyla Shepperd Allen.

Bub had graduated from Quenemo High School in 1970, then received an Associates Degree from Allen County Community College which he attended on a Sports Scholarship in Basketball and Track. He then attended Wichita State University on a Track Scholarship throwing the javelin. He worked for Midwest Precoat and then for Clarkson Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #101. Bub enjoyed fishing, farming and his dogs and horses.

Bub was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Twyla.

Bub is survived by his two sons, Josh and Abby Allen and granddaughter Addison of Junction City and Tyler Allen and grandsons Jace, Tanner and Kade of Ottawa; his two brothers, Lynn Allen and Brad Allen, both of Quenemo; his sister, Melody (Terry) Hoffsommer of Overbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
