Obituary

Osage City--Floyd Chester Boss, Jr., passed away on Thursday, May26, 2016 at his home in Osage City. He was born on March 12, 1954 in Sedan, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Betty Bohannon Boss, Sr.

Chet, as he was known, lived in Cedar Vale before moving to Osage City in 1969.

Chet graduated from Osage City High School and then received his Bachelor's Degree from Emporia State University. He had worked at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant as a Field Welding Engineer. He had also managed the Osage City Municipal Golf Course for a time. Chet was baptized in the Baptist Church in Cedar Vale when he was 8 years old and he had attended the Catholic Church in Osage City.

On March 17, 2007, Chet was married to Kathy Lehrbach in Miami, Oklahoma.

Chet is survived by his wife Kathy of the home; his six children, Jesse Boss (Abby Bracken) of Fredonia, Nicholas Boss of Dallas, Texas, Monika (Shalako) Rowsey of Osage City, Misty Lehrbach (Jeremy Dogeagle) of Union, Washington, Amber Kennedy (Justin Wiscombe) of Overbrook and Lindsay Lehrbach of Osage City; his parents, Floyd and Betty Boss of Osage City; his three siblings, Debra Boss of Topeka, Larry Boss of Osage City and Tina McIver of Council Grove; sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, former wife, Carol Boss and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Chet will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 1 at the Community Covenant Church in Osage City. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conrad Carlson Charitable Foundation or the Osage City Municipal Golf Course, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
