Lyndon - Eunice Faye Wedermyer, 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her home in Lyndon, Kansas. She was born on April 16, 1948, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Owen and Letha (Torrens) Schaefer.

Eunice grew up in Emporia and graduated from Emporia High School in 1966. She had lived in Lyndon since 1984.

Eunice was a Daycare provider for several years before starting at the Osage County Register of Deeds. She worked there for 27 years until her retirement. She had attended the Lyndon United Methodist Church.

Eunice was united in marriage to Larry Wedermyer on June 25, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Eunice was preceded in death by her daughter, Shellie Rene on January 29, 2007; by her parents, Owen and Letha; by her two brothers, Ronnie Schaefer and Donnie Schaefer; and by a sister, Charlotte Schaffer.

Eunice is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; by her three sons, Troy Smith and fiancé Laura of Osage City, Andrew (Lindsey) Wedermyer and Nathan (Summer) Wedemyer, both of Lawrence; her daughter, Cheryl Beach (Anthony) of Hillsboro; her two sisters, Alva Burden of Emporia and Barbara Hill of Wichita; her three grandchildren, Van Wedermyer, Isiah Smith and Caden Walquist; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Eunice will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 11 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Chicago Mound Cemetery east of Emporia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
