Osage City - Elizabeth Mae Ramshaw, 110, (for the last five months she was the oldest living Kansan by Geriatric Research Group) passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Homestead in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on March 23, 1916, near Vassar, Kansas, the daughter of John and Lula Belle (Thompson) Dickerhoof.

Elizabeth grew up near Vassar, lived near Michigan Valley for many years, lived in Lyndon for 25 year and then lived in Osage City for the last ten years. She had lived her entire life within 20 miles of her birthplace, where Lake Pomona is now.

Elizabeth graduated 8th grade from Farmersville grade school and then became a waitress with her sister in Lyndon. She was a farmwife, helping on the farm with cattle and crops, vegetable gardening and raising chickens and selling eggs. Elizabeth was a seamstress and a cook, known for her coconut cream pies.She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church.

On March 8, 1941, Elizabeth was united in marriage to George Ramshaw in Topeka, Kansas. To this union a son was born, Ray.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, George on May 16, 1997; by a great-granddaughter, Ava; by her parents, John and Lula; by her five brothers, George, Harry "Tick", Ira, Johnny and Jim Dickerhoof; and by her three sisters, Helen Goldsmith, Sarah White and Nellie Martin.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Ray (Helen) Ramshaw of Wakarusa; her three grandchildren, Richard (Cathy) Ramshaw, Julie (Mark) Clobes and Kristin Ramshaw; by eight grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Elizabeth will be at 1:30pm on Saturday, June 13, at the Lyndon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
