Obituary

Osage City--Earnest Wheeler, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. He was born on June 29, 1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, the son of Henry and Ethel Casey Wheeler, Sr.
Earnest lived in Arkansas City for many years and had lived in Osage City since 1997.
Earnest worked as a mechanic for General Electric Aircraft in Arkansas City. He was a member of the Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Lyndon.
On January 26, 1959, Earnest was married to Sue Hix in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel; three brothers, Henry Wheeler, Jr., D.L. Wheeler and E.J. Wheeler; and one sister, Inez.
Earnest is survived by his wife, Sue, of 60 years; his four sons, Marvin Tilford and wife Ingrid of Missouri, Ernest Tilford and wife Linda of Missouri, James Wheeler and wife Lucille of Arkansas City and Michael Wheeler of Olathe; his two daughters, Joy Casiano and husband Joe of Osage City and Kathryn Lemke and husband Herb of North Carolina; his brother, Bob Wheeler; his sister, Lena Klopenstein; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Earnest will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28 at the Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Lyndon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church for mission work, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
