Melvern - Dorothy Lee "Dot" Brunner, 86, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at her home near Melvern, Kansas. She was born on November 6, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Richard and Evelyn (Sumner) Schultze.

Dot had grown up in Melvern and had graduated from Melvern High School in 1954. She had lived in Midwest City, Oklahoma for many years before moving back to Melvern.

Dot had been a housewife and military wife. She was a member of the Midwest City Church of God and the Melvern Church of God.

On May 8, 1954, Dot was united in marriage to Bobby Oran Brunner in Melvern. To this union three children were born, David, Lisa and Jeffery.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby on October 31, 2006; by a son, Jeffery Brunner on December 11, 2022; by her parents, Richard and Evelyn; by a brother, Dick Schultze; and a sister, Ruth Driver.

Dot is survived by her son, David Brunner of Melvern; her daughter, Lisa Brunner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her daughter, Natasha Brunner of Miami, Oklahoma; her three brothers, John (Sharon) Schultze of Ottawa, Kerk (Kathy) Schultze of Waverly and Darrell (Janet) Schultze of Melvern; her two sisters, Carolyn (George) Alexander and Kathy (John) Dewey, all of Melvern; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Dot will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 20, at the Melvern Church of God. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time at the church.
