Lyndon - Donna Joy Hutchcroft, 96, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. She was born on September 2, 1927, in Underwood, Iowa, the daughter of Mathis and Olga (Mellerup) Sinkey.

Donna grew up in Iowa and lived in or near Emporia for many years. She moved to Lyndon a year and a half ago to be closer to family. Donna was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved to follow the NFL and college basketball. Her Christian faith was very strong and surrounded
herself with the Word of God.

Donna worked as a CNA, then a Registration clerk at Newman Hospital in Emporia for 10 years. She then spent 25 years as a Greeter at WalMart where she built many friendships with staff and customers. During WW2, she helped support the war efforts in California as a "Rosie
the Riveter", then returned to Iowa where she met her future husband.

On June 22, 1946, Donna was united in marriage to Robert Leo Hutchcroft in Lamoni, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Robert "Sonny", and Susan.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Bob on June 27, 1988; by her son, Bob Hutchcroft; and by her daughter, Sue Hutchcroft; her parents, and her 3 sisters.

Donna is survived by her grandson, Robert (Dianna) Hutchcroft of Lyndon; 2 great-grandchildren Colton and Joyse; nieces and nephews.

Donna will be cremated and inurned by her husband, Bob, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni, Iowa. Memorial contributions in memory of Donna may be made to Kansas Miss Amazing, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
