Obituary

Osage City - Donna Lee Hannigan, 85, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on December 6, 1939, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Bickford) Burns.

Donna grew up in Osage City, attending Osage City schools. She had lived in Lyndon and Admire before returning to Osage City.

Donna worked as Certified Nursing Assistant at Hilltop Nursing Home in Lyndon and at Osage Manor and Peterson's Nursing Home in Osage City. She has also worked at Orbis Manufacturing in Osage City and was a Homemaker.

Donna married John Robert Skidmore, they later divorced. She married Jim Snyder, they later divorced. She married Jim Hannigan and he preceded her in death in March of 2013.

Donna was also preceded in death by two of her sons, Robert Skidmore on March 28, 2021, and David Skidmore on November 28, 2024; by a grandson, Patrick Skidmore; by a granddaughter, Susan Beecham; by her parents, Robert and Grace; by three of her brothers, Bobby Burns, Charlie Burns and Clifford Burns; and by five of her sisters, Mae Weeks, Clara Bryan, Dollie Brecheisen and twin infant sisters.

Donna is survived by her son, John Skidmore, Jr. of Osage City; by her brother, Earl Burns of Osage CIty;  by her sister, Evie Anstaett of Burlingame; by her four grandchildren, Johnna Skidmore, Luke Skidmore, Jennifer Bontrager and Bobbi Havenstein; by her eight great-grandchildren, Autumn (Charlie), Jordynn (Alex), Matthew, Kinsey, Jaxson, Lilli, Nora and Clara; by her six great-great-grandchildren, Tarynn, Adalynn, Kyler, Rhett, Reece and Michael; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Donna will be at 10:30am on Saturday, August 16 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donna Hannigan Memorial Fund, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
