Lyndon--Donald W. Jones, 68, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home in Lyndon, Kansas. He was born on May 7, 1951 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Donald and Doris Burns Jones.

Don had lived all of his life in the Lyndon community. He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1969. He worked as an over the road truck driver for Don Jones and Son Trucking for many years and then worked as an equipment operator for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Lyndon Jaycees. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Osage City.

Don was married to Ruth Hund on June 11, 1988 in Paxico, Kansas.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Doris; by a son, Robert Jones on August 22, 1981; and by his sister, Linda Jones-Norland on September 21, 2015.

Don is survived by his wife Ruth of 31 years; their five sons, Russell (Teena) Jones, John (Jessica) Jones, Michael (Courtney) Jones, all of Lyndon, Christopher Jones of Overland Park, Kansas and Patrick Jones of Lyndon; two grandchildren, Morgan Jones and Clara Jones; three step grandchildren, Jennifer, Hannah and Jake Neuenschwander; and one step great-grandson, Michael.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, September 17 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Osage City. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00am at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00am. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery.
