Osage City--Donald "Ike" Garland, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas.  He was born on November 20, 1930 in Hartford, Kansas the son of Sylvester and Irene Fish Garland.
Ike grew up in Hartford, had lived in Emporia when first married and has lived in Osage City since.
Ike graduated from Hartford High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He had worked with his father in-law at Curley Plumbing in Osage City, later formed a partnership with his brother-in-law in the plumbing business. He later worked in maintenance for Montara in Topeka and after retirement had worked for Jerry's Thriftway in Osage City.  He attended the Countryside Baptist Church in Osage City.
Ike was married to Kay Anna Curley on May 29, 1960 in Osage City.
Ike was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Cousin; by his parents, Sylvester and Irene; six brothers; and three sisters.
Ike is survived by his wife Kay of the home; his son, John (Josi) Garland of Osage City and their children, Leah and Kate; his daughter, Gete (Tim) Treinen of Osage City and their children, Zachary and Blake (Kati); his two grandsons, Sultan and Malachi Cousin; and an honorary granddaughter Allison; his two great-grandchildren, Dayton and Addison; his three brothers; his sister; thirty-five nieces and nephews, fifty-eight great nieces and nephews and twenty-five great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Ike will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 4 at the Countryside Baptist Church in Osage City.  Private family burial will be in the Rapp Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Countryside Baptist Church, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
