Dollie Faye Brecheisen, 87, of Lyndon, passed away on March 12, 2022, at Vintage Park Assisted Living in Osage City. She was born April 16, 1934, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Bickford) Burns.

Dollie attended Osage City public schools. She was a wonderful, supportive farm wife and mother. Dollie lived on the family farm east of Lyndon, KS the majority of her life. Dollie spent her days raising her three children, cooking wonderful meals, helping on the farm any way she could and active in the women's groups at the Vassar United Methodist, Vassar, KS where she was a member. Dollie and her husband enjoyed playing the card game Pitch with their friends. Dollie did beautiful embroidery work. She enjoyed watching old TV westerns and listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Dollie enjoyed riding along in the Kubota around the farm and visiting with neighbors. Dollie's favorite color was red, and she loved red roses. She enjoyed the holidays and special times she had together with her family and friends.

Dollie married Paul F. Brecheisen on August 21, 1951. Their first date was to the Osage County Fair. Paul saved up a quarter so he and Dollie could ride the Ferris wheel together. They were married for 63 years. Paul preceded her in death on June 12, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother's Charles, Robert and Clifford Burns. Her sisters, Mae Weeks and Clara Bryan and her twin sisters who died shortly after birth.

Dollie was so proud of her three children, daughter, Diana Detwiler (Earl) of Cadillac, Michigan, Anita Hodge (Rick) of Topeka, Kansas and Doug Brecheisen, Lyndon, Kansas.

Dollie was a wonderful grandmother to Aaron Detwiler (Alexandria), Caleb Gardner (RaeAnn), Bethany Detwiler, Rachel King ( Kurtis) and Kate MacEntire (Brad). Her grandchildren have awesome memories of vacations on the farm with homemade ice cream, grandma's famous cookies, playing with the farm animals and grandma's signature yodeling . Dollie's great-grandchildren, Sha, Hailei, Jullian and Sadie Detwiler, Jazmyne Detwiler, Miles and Mollee King, Ty and Westyn Gardner, Mason and Hunter Kracht, Carter and Jack MacEntire are all left with many fond memories. Dollie has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins that have wonderful memories of times spent on the Brecheisen farm.

Dollie was blessed to have a wonderful husband and children. Dollie's children made sure their Mother's needs and wants were met. Dollie's son and two son-in-laws were the other men in her life that were at her beckon call.

Dollie and her family want to thank the wonderful staff at Vintage Park Assisted Living and Avalon Hospice for their kindness and loving care.

Dollie is also survived by her sisters, Donna Hannigan, Eva Anstaett and her brother Earl Burns.

Memorial service for Dollie will be at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in the Vassar Cemetery.
