Osage City - Dennis "Denny" Downey, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on November 13, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Michael and Cleo (Gardner) Downey.

Denny had grown up in Kansas City, Missouri and had lived around Osage City since 1970.

Denny served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. He worked as a Line Worker for General Motors for 30 years.

On May 20, 2006, Denny was united in marriage to Judy Kemble in Osage City.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Cleo.

Denny is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; his stepdaughter, Christine (Allen) Foster of Burlingame; his brother, Tim Downey of Kansas City, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Kourtney (Raynor) McClendon and Kurtis Flynn; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 23 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Osage City. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery at Osage City. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 6:00pm until the Rosary at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Denny may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
