Topeka--Delphia Eileen Koepsel, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, KS. She was born on September 22, 1942 in Wann, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter and Alphie Smith Conder.
Delphia had lived in Topeka for over 50 years.
Delphia received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Washburn University in 1964 and taught for 32 years. She started teaching in Pomona, KS., then Plattsmouth, Nebraska and finished with 28 years at the Scranton Elementary School District 434. She had been a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Topeka.
On November 20, 1966, Delphia was married to Edward Koepsel, Jr. in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.
Delphia was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alphie; and her two sisters, Nadine Winans and Freida Gordon.
Delphia is survived by her husband, Ed of the home; her three brothers, Delbert Conder (Sandy) of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Jarold Conder (Martha) of Porter, Oklahoma and Melvin Conder (Rhonda) of Sperry, Oklahoma; eleven nieces and nephews and best friend, Mikie Smith of Topeka.
Funeral services for Delphia will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 26 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery south of Overbrook. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
