Delores Kay Piland's Obituary
Emporia--Delores Kay Piland, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Holiday Resort in Emporia, Kansas. She was born on November 7, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Gladys Hooper Duesler.
Delores earned her nursing degree from the Newman Hospital Nursing Program in Emporia. She had worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years, retiring after working for the Shawnee County Health Department. Delores was an avid reader and a gardener. She enjoyed thrifting at thrift shops and her family was the most important thing to her.
On May 13, 1977, Delores was united in marriage to John Piland II in Florences, Kansas.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, John, on December 4, 2013; her parents, Robert and Gladys; and all but one of her siblings.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Angie Reetz of Westchester, Illinois; her three sons, Damon Krom of Emporia, Brady Krom of Emporia and John Piland III of Lyndon; her sister, Sandy Hileman of Emporia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delores was cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon is assisting the family.
