Obituary

Debora Ann Hennier, 64, of Osage City, Kansas, died March 29, 2022, at Osage Nursing Center, from complications caused by Parkinson's disease.

Debora was born on January 28, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to George and Jo Ann (Clark) Hennier.

After high school Debora attended Cosmetology School. She entered the workforce at a local beauty shop for a few years. Debora, however, found her true calling caring for others and spent many years taking care of her parents, their home, and her loved ones. After both of her parents passed, Debora moved to Osage City to live with her cousins, Carol Ann and Joseph B. Higgins. Debora became active in church activities at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the St. Patrick's Altar Society. She taught Religious Education and was involved with other youth activities at the church.  Debora worked many years at Jerry's Thriftway in Osage City. She looked forward to working at the store every day. Greeting and helping customers were Debora's joy. Debora retired from Jerry's in 2019.

Debora loved her KC Royals and Chiefs teams. She never missed a game. She also enjoyed crafting, collecting religious items, and traveling. She visited many Marian shrines and attended many of her favorite sporting events with her good friend and travel companion, Thomas Nordling Jr. Debora loved to celebrate special occasions with everyone she knew, by giving them small gifts and cards. She remembered birthdays, graduations, 1 st Communions, Confirmations, weddings, births, and deaths, and never forgot dates of those special events in the lives of those that were special to her.

Debora was preceded in death by her father and mother George and JoAnn (Clark) Hennier, her only sibling, William (Billy) Lee Phillips, and her cousin Joseph B. Higgins. Debora leaves behind her Aunt and Uncle, Mary Lou and Donald Hennier, a nephew, and two nieces. She also leaves her cousin, Carol Ann Higgins (whom she lived with for many years), her dear friend Thomas Nordling Jr., her Higgins' cousins Marcia Higgins, Bunny (Dennis deceased) Higgins, Bridget (Greg) Martinez, Michelle (Steve) Giesy, Vicki (Randy) Jesseph, and many other cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

A celebration of Debora's life and Mass will be Friday, April 8 at St. Patrick's Parish in Osage City, KS at 3:00 PM. Rosary will precede Mass at 2:45.

The family will receive guests following Mass during a light meal at St. Bridget's Hall. Interment will be in Kansas City, Missouri, at a later date.
