David Graika, 85, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at a care home near Pomona.
Graveside services for David are planned for 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9 at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. The family plans to receive friends 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.
He was born June 11, 1929, in Hettinger, North Dakota, the son of John and Violet Kvaneig Graika.
David had lived around the Ottawa community for many years.
David had worked as an auto mechanic. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949 during the Occupation of Japan.
On Aug. 8, 1950, David was married to Ruth Ann Onefeather in Deadwood, South Dakota.
David was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on July 16, 2012; two sons, Rodney and Darius; a daughter, Valerie; three brothers, Carmen, Kermit and Sherwood; and a sister, Leaona.
David is survived by five sons, Merlin, Jeff and Garrett of Ottawa, Avery of Topeka and Tavis of Williamsburg; a daughter, Sally of Salem, Oregon; two brothers, Paul Graika of Rockford, Illinois and Joe Graika of Arizona; a sister, Darlien of California; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
