Osage City - David E. Anderson, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Osage Nursing in Osage City, Kansas. He was born August 18, 1941 in Osage City, Kansas, the son of Thomas and Verda Lafferty Anderson.
David had lived most of his life in Osage City but had lived for a few years in Topeka as well.
David had farmed, was owner/operator of Anderson Plumbing & Heating, A & G Underground, worked at Kan-Build and owned Dog Town Antiques. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for nearly 10 years, was a member of the Stotler Covenant Church where he was an Officer, a member of Auburn Christian Church where he was an Elder. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Osage City, the Osage City Jaycees, worked for the Rural Water District and was a Square Dancer.
David was united in marriage to Donna Dee Balocca on February 10, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Laura and Laird.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Verda.
David is survived by wife, Donna of the home; his two children, Laura (Brett) Haynes and Laird (Kandy) Anderson, all of Osage City; his two brothers, Lawrence Anderson and Harlan Anderson, both of Osage City; his three grandchildren, Kyle (Tobi), Mariah and Trista; and his three great-grandchildren, Walker, Warren and Emerson.
Memorial services for David will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 27 at the Countryside Baptist Church in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
