Lyndon--Daryl L. Michael, 82, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born on July 15, 1933 in Lyndon, the son of William and Louise Deskins Michael.
Daryl attended the Whitney Country School until 5th grade, then attended Lyndon Grade School and Lyndon High School, graduating in 1951. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952 and served as a Medical Corpsman on the U.S.S. Midway. He was a Farmer and Stockman all of his life. He had attended the Lyndon Assembly of God Church while raising his family and is now a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. With Daryl, serving the Lord, his family, his time in the Navy and Tiger activities were special to him.
On October 7, 1957 Daryl was married to Carol Peterson in Lyndon. To this union two children were born, Mark and Kim.
Daryl is survived by his wife Carol of the home; his son Mark Michael and wife Cathy of Buena Vista, Colorado; his daughter, Kim Sprecker and husband Devin of Lyndon; his sister, Wanda King of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and his seven grandchildren, Chelsea Sprecker, Cory Sprecker, Kate Sprecker and Caroline Sprecker, all of Lyndon, Abby Hoffman and husband Neil of Overland Park, Ethan Michael and wife Paige of Osage City and Emma Michael of Buena Vista, Colorado; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Daryl will be at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Burial with military honors will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm on Tuesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.
