Michigan Valley - Darlene Lea Buelke, 82 passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at her home near Michigan Valley, Kansas. She was born on April 3, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of James and Hazel (Syverson) Phipps.

Darlene had lived in Claremore, Oklahoma for many years before moving to Kansas in 2010.

Darlene was a high school math teacher and then became a school counselor. She had been a member of the Red Hat Society and the Overbrook Friends of the Library.

In 1965 Darlene was united in marriage to George Buelke, Jr. in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. To this union a daughter was born, Jamye.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband George on September 16, 2009; and by her parents, James and Hazel.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Jamye Naramore and husband Cody of Michigan Valley; and by a grandson, Austin Naramore

Darlene was cremated and a memorial service will be held in Oklahoma at a later date. Feltner Funeral home in Lyndon is assisting with local arrangements.
