Osage City-- Danny Lee Ormsby, 68, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his home in Osage City, Kansas. He was born on April 3, 1952 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Alvin and Leota (Gavin) Ormsby.
Danny had lived in and around Osage City for most of his life.
Danny graduated from Osage City High School
in 1970
and served in the United States Marine Corps. He had worked for John Deere in Osage City and had been an over the road truck driver for many years. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #198 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3890, both in Osage City.
On September 23, 1983, Danny was married to Marilyn Jean Mason in Lyndon.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn on May 21, 2010; by his parents, Alvin and Leota; by two of his brothers, Jerry and Jim Ormsby; and by one sister, Betty Boyce.
Danny is survived by his son, Dean Mason of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; two daughters, Cindy Scott (Tracy) of Albany, Georgia and Rhonda Mason-Ogle (Shawn) of Osage City; his brother, Bill Ormsby (Shirley) of Olivet; his four sisters, Donna Miller (Norm Rieger) of Lascassa, Tennessee, Joan Staus of Ottawa, Lois Gutierrez (John) of Dumas, Texas and Nancy Peters of Lebo; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
No services are planned and private family inurnment will be in the Alpine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Assistance Fund (for the Topeka VA hospital), sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
