Osage City--Charles W. Heilman, 94, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Osage Nursing Center.  He was born on October 7, 1922 near Quenemo, Kansas the only son of LeRoy and Flossie Yockey Heilman.
Chuck had lived most of his life around the Quenemo and Melvern communities and had lived in Osage City for the last 13 years.  He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater with the 729th Railway Operating Battalion.  He had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, farmed and had worked for Osage County for several years.
On June 4, 1947 Chuck was married to Lillian "Billie" Hobbs in Lyndon.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Flossie and by his four sisters, Pauline Swallow, June Thornbrugh, Frances Henderson and Yuneta Anderson.
Chuck is survived by his wife Billie of 69 years; his two daughters, Connie Masenthin and Karen West and husband Dwight; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Chuck will be from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday, January 29 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.  Private family inurnment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Melvern at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
