MELVERN
Melvern - Charles "Chuck" Baldridge, 71, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Advent Health in Ottawa, Kansas. He was born on September 25, 1952, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Esther (Snyder) Baldridge.
Chuck was raised in Emporia, KS and graduated from Emporia High School in 1971. He had lived many years in Melvern, KS, until his passing.
Chuck served in the United States Marine Corps at the rank of Sergeant from 1971 to 1975. He worked for IBP in Emporia and then started at Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant. He worked in Security and then was in Quality Control. He was a member of the American Legion Post #317, the Melvern Pride and volunteered at Help House.
On September 4, 1976, Chuck was married to Minnie Romine, they later divorced. He married Nancy Alley on December 21, 1990, in Burlington.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther; and by an infant daughter, Michelle Baldridge.
Chuck is survived by his wife Nancy of 33 years; his six children, Connie Hallowell, David Hallowell, Ben (Debbi) Brinkley, Melinda (Eric) Parks; Jeremiah Baldridge and Melissa Baldridge Sanchez; his three siblings, Andrea "Jody" Indermuehle, Duane "Lee" Baldridge and Kristina "Kristy" (John) Chrisman; his six grandchildren, Nocona (Zach) Edwards, Justin Brinkley, Sydnie Everhart, Tim Parks, Corey Parks and Cameron Parks; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Chuck will be at 10:30am on Monday, July 29 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, east of Melvern. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Chuck may be made to the Melvern Pride or Help House, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
