Quenemo - Brenda Rae Ragan, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Advent Health in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on December 29, 1945, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Charles William and Geneva Levine (Johnson) Hohlbauch.

Brenda grew up in Clay City, Illinois and she had lived in Quenemo since 1965. She graduated from Clay City High School in 1964.

Brenda had worked at HD Lee in Ottawa, at IBP in Emporia, Cramer Products in Gardner, was an aide at the Overbrook and Winchester Nursing Homes, worked with her son Ron starting Buzzard's Pizza and was a Lunch Lady at the Quenemo school. She had been a past member of the Clay City Baptist Church.

Brenda was married to William Ragan in 1966. They were divorced in 1978. To this union three sons were born, Ron, Mike and Travis.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son, Travis on November 16, 2022; by a grandson, Trent Ragan; by her sister, Liz Hull; and by her parents, Charles and Geneva.

Brenda is survived by her two sons, Ron (Kay) Ragan of Lenexa and Mike Ragan of Quenemo; by her two brothers, Bob (Judy) Hohlbauch of Decatur, Illinois and Charles (Karen) Hohlbauch of Brighton, Illinois; her five grandchildren, Tanner, MacKenzie, Chancler, Jasmine and Christian; her four great-grandchildren, Blake, James, Hudson and Logan; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Brenda will be at 11:00am on Saturday, June 7 at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the East View Cemetery north of Quenemo at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Brenda may be made to the American Legion Post #125, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
