Obituary

Overbrook--Ben F. Winans, 80, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 near Osage City. He was born on August 9, 1934 in Topeka, Ks., the son of Frank and Helen Hallowell Winans.
Ben was raised and lived around Scranton before moving south of Overbrook in 1965.
Ben had been a Farmer and Stockman for many years and had been a Rural Mail Carrier out of Scranton since 1986. He had served in the U. S. Army Reserve for several years.
On December 27, 1964, Ben was married to Nadine Conder in South Coffeyville, OK.
Ben was preceded in death by Nadine on July 5, 2012 and by his parents.
Ben is survived by four brothers, Brock Winans of Williamstown, N.J., Carl Winans of Scranton, Donald Winans of Phoenix, AZ. and Raymond Winans of Olathe; two sisters, Madge Freeman of Anderson, IN. and Rachel Winans of McPherson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ben will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 30 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery south of Overbrook. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS., 66451.
