Melvern - Barbara Jean (Tyson) Warner, 89, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on September 18, 1933, to William and Stella (Tull) Tyson in Waverly, Kansas.

Barbara attended Melvern High School and graduated in 1951.

She married Raymond Warner on July 29 1956, in Melvern. During high school, Barbara worked at Old Beto Junction and would later become a supervisor at Hallmark Cards before becoming a full time homemaker after her son, Russell was born in 1960.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters; her three brothers; and a granddaughter, Maggie Warner (1999).

Barbara is survived by her husband, Raymond Warner, of Melvern; her son, Russell (Maureen) Warner of Melvern; her granddaughter, Destinee Warner of Topeka; and her grandson, Frank Warner of Melvern.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, animals and country music. She loved her grandchildren, and her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandma. Barbara will be remembered for her bold personality and the kindness and compassion she extended to all who knew her.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at the Melvern United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 10:30am. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon.
