Williamsburg - Barbara Lou Swanson, 84, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at her home near Williamsburg, Kansas. She was born on March 9, 1941, in Lebo, Kansas, the daughter of Orie and Mary (Schrader) Preston.

Barbara grew up in the Olivet area and then lived in Lyndon where she graduated from high school in 1959. She had lived in Franklin County since 1967.

Barbara worked in the Franklin County Motor Vehicle Department for many years and had been head of the department for several years.

On June 5, 1959, Barbara was united in marriage to Frank Swanson in Olivet, Kansas. To this union two sons were born, Mike and Chris.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Mary.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Frank of 66 years; her two sons, Mike (Cynthia) Swanson of Belen, New Mexico and Chris Swanson of Williamsburg; her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Matthew (Lydia) Swanson and their two sons, Charlie and Oliver, Victoria (Nathan) Cotter and son Levi, Cody Swanson and daughter, Abigail and Cole (Ashley) Swanson.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Friday, October 3 at 1:30pm at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Melvern Cemetery.
