Osage City--August "Red" Decock, 83, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 in Weslaco, Texas. He was born on March 25, 1932 in Osage City, the son of August and Bertha Kaseler Decock, Sr.

Red had lived most all of his life in the Osage City community.

He graduated from Osage City High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and then in the U.S. Air Force for four years from 1952 to 1956. Red worked for Western Electric, Bendix Aviation, was City Superintendent for Osage City, then worked for KCP&L and retired from Westar Energy. He was a member of the Osage City American Legion Post where he had been Post Commander, the Lions Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Osage City Country Club where he had been President and the Electrical Union. He served on the Osage City City Council, the Tree Council and was a Volunteer Fireman for 25 years.

On May 19, 1957, Red was married to Sharon Parre in Osage City.

Red was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Decock.

Red is survived by his wife Sharon of 58 years; his three children, Debbie Rinzler (Chuck) of Osage City, Don Decock of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Greg Decock of Reading; a step brother, Mike Sloop; three step sisters, Betty Dunn, Mary Stewart and Pat Banister; and two grandchildren, Colton and Onna.

Funeral services for Red will be at 10:30am on Saturday, December 5 at the Osage City United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00pm on Friday at the church.
