Burlingame - Arthur Alonzo Boren, 78, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at his home near Burlingame, Kansas surrounded by his family. He was born on March 24, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Malcolm and Verna (Wilson) Boren.
Art lived most of his life in Osage County. He worked for the Burlington, Northern & Santa Fe Railroad with the Bridge and Building Gang and retired in 2008 after 33 years of service. He was a life member of the Santa Fe Trail Plainsman-Black Powder Group.
On November 12, 1971, Art was united in marriage to Gayle Tufts in Scranton, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Verna, two sisters Betty Lou Fitzhugh and Mary Ann Harville and his brother George Lee Boren.
Art is survived by his wife Gayle of over 54 years; his two daughters, Aimee Thoennes (Scott Dobler) of Topeka and Camille Gann (Jeremy) of Blue Springs, Missouri; his three sisters, Kim Collinge (Dennis), Paula Fay and Diane Walters; his six grandchildren, Josh Quaney (Jace Reese), Brandon Quaney (Katie), Joey Thoennes, Madilyn Gann (Deacon Leonard), Andrew Gann and Olivia Gann; his great-granddaughter, Kennedy Quaney; and other relatives and friends.
