Obituary

Lebo--Alvin Raymond Kitt, 73, passed away January 5, 2016 at his home in Lebo, Kansas. He was born on September 20, 1942 on the family farm near Quenemo, Kansas.

Alvin had lived in Lyndon and Osage City before moving to Lebo 5 years ago. He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1960 and had been a member of the Lyndon Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 with the 1st Air Cavalry.

Alvin retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka in 1997 where he had worked as an Inspector and Earthmover Tire Repairman.

Alvin was married to Alta Jo Abney on November 10, 1962 in Osage City. They later divorced. He married Claudia Willyard on April 1, 2009 in Miami, Oklahoma.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Claudia on February 15, 2011; by his parents, Roland and Pauline; and by a sister, Peggy Kitt in 1956.

Alvin is survived by his two step-sons, Luke Flatin of Hastings, Nebraska and Sam Flatin of Melvern; his brother, Kerry Kitt (Marilyn) of Burlington; his sister, Lorene Cranwell (Larry) of Topeka; a nephew, Darin Kitt; three nieces, Stacie Fleischer, Shawna Swaffar and Stephanie Herrick; and four step-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Alvin will be at 3:00pm on Monday, January 11 at the Melvern United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Melvern Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
