Lyndon--Alta Rasmusson, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Lexington Park Assisted Living Center in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on November 15, 1928 in Zenda, Kansas, the daughter of George and Fannie Tarr Fisher.
Alta had lived in Lyndon since 1967. She had worked in the Osage County Clerk's office, for the Lyndon Cleaners and at the Giant Drive-In in Lyndon. She had been on the Lyndon School Board for several years and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar and the Osage County Republicans Women's Group.
On April 23, 1948 Alta was married to ReVoe "Doc" Rasmusson in Wichita. She was preceded in death by "Doc" on September 2, 2004.
Alta is survived by her two sons, Steve Rasmusson and David Rasmusson, both of Lyndon; her daughter, Karen Persinger of Atchison; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Alta will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, September 15 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
